In this module the student, guided by the research plan developed in the Scoping and Planning the Research Project module, continues a programme of primary and secondary reading, project development and writing to complete a dissertation of 15,000 words. This will be on an aspect of historical debate and will draw upon both the existing literature on the subject and original historical research and argument conducted by the student to produce a new analysis. Each student will be assigned a supervisor (or occasionally, more than one supervisor) who will support their project.
